8/31 Thursday Announcements

Students the 7th/8th grade center now has a chromebook charging station open in room 111 for your use. There is limited space so please remember to charge your chromebook at home.

We are now offering breakfast every morning for purchase in the cafeteria in the 7/8 grade center. We have snack bags with many choices! Breakfast is $1.60 and available to everyone. If you want to purchase breakfast, just come into the cafeteria when you arrive at school.

After school activities for today are the first Technology Student Association meeting is in room 146 in the 7/8 grade center. A Cross Country Meet with Geneva North at Peck Farm Park starting at 4:15pm. Volleyball game, Navy Team against Wredling, 7th grade is at the 6th grade center, 8th grade is at Wredling and a Football game against Geneva 7th grade at Home, 8th grade at Geneva High School.

Attention 6th grade Cross Country team-change immediately after school and meet your coaches on the tennis courts.  We will walk to the 7th/8th grade center together.

Attention all students interested in Chess Club - we will have our first meeting on September 12 from 3:35-4:30 in the back of the LRC.  If you have any questions, please stop by and see Mr. Otterby in Room 222 in the 7th/8th grade center.

Attention students- Do you enjoy living an active and healthy lifestyle? Are you looking for ways to showcase your leadership skills? Are you a fan of the NFL? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then Fuel Up to Play 60 is for you! There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, Sept 6th at 7:45 in the morning at the 7/8 campus. Please meet in the front foyer by the main office at 7:45 if you are interested!

Attention Students interested in Yearbook- We are holding a call out information meeting on Tuesday, Sept 5th at 8:00am in room #142 in the 7/8th grade center for anyone interested in becoming a yearbook staff member.  Any questions, please see Mr. Harmon.

Write-A-Check Flyers coming home via the backpack.  Raffle prize winner's pulled each Friday in September.  Donations received prior to Friday draw dates will be automatically entered to win!

Homework Helper is starting at Thompson Middle School, next week on Thursday, September 7th, 6th grade students will have the opportunity to work on homework before school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45am to 8:15 am.  The purpose of Homework Helper is to provide a quiet place where students can complete homework independently or with assistance from the supervisor. 6th Grade teachers will have golden ticket passes for students to use for homework helper. Students will need to show the bus supervisors their pass in the morning and bring it with them to room 118. Group size is limited to 30, so there will also be a shared google sheet for teachers to fill out when they know a student will be attending. Homework Helper supervisor will collect passes when students arrive in the morning to room 118. 7th and 8th graders - stay tuned for when Homework Club starts for you!

Students in the fall play pick up scripts from the 6th grade main office or Mrs. Pogge’s room 155, 7/8 grade center.

Please stop by the main office in either center if you have spirit wear to pick up.

No School on Friday, it is our Institute Day and no school on Monday for Labor Day. Enjoy your weekend!
