Homework Helper is starting at Thompson Middle School. On Thursday, September 7th, 6th grade students will have the opportunity to work on homework before school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45am to 8:15 am. The purpose of Homework Helper is to provide a quiet place where students can complete homework independently or with assistance from the supervisor. 6th Grade teachers will have golden ticket passes for students to use for homework helper.  Students will need to show the bus supervisors their pass in the morning and bring it with them to room 118. Group size is limited to 30, so there will also be a shared google sheet for teachers to fill out when they know a student will be attending. Homework Helper supervisor will collect passes when students arrive in the morning to room 118. Homework Lab, a supervised and supported study session, will begin September 12th in the 7/8 center after school in Lab 111 and run every Tuesday and Thursday.  Students can retake tests or quizzes, get extra help with assignments, get help to be organized, or just have a quiet place to work on homework twice a week after school.  We will work from 3:35 until the Activity Bus arrives at 4:40. You don't need a pass, just head on into the North Lab room 111  any Tuesday or Thursday after school.  Hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please email christine.voreis@d303.org.

Attention all students interested in Chess Club - we will have our first meeting on September 12 from 3:35-4:30 in the back of the LRC.  If you have any questions, please stop by and see Mr. Otterby in Room 222 in the 7th/8th grade center.

Do you play guitar, piano, or bass?  Would you like to join band students in forming our very own ‘Jazz Band’?  The Jazz Band will meet Tuesdays after school, and Thursdays before school, beginning on September 19th.  Just sign-up in the Band Room (#209) or See Mr. Anderson for more info.

A message from Miss Meyers: Please drop off your Box Tops for Education to the Health room 222  in TMS 6 or both building main offices. Our goal this year is collecting 20,000 Box Tops for our school. This will equal $2,000 for TMS. Please send your home collection with your parents for Back to School Curriculum Night. Thank you for each one, they are worth 10 cents each!

Thanks Thompson and have a great day!
