News for Today

Have you ever wondered why chemicals react the way they do?  Come find out TODAY in Room 129 in the 7/8 grade center from 3:40-4:30! Science club will be making some spooktacular reactions! If you can’t make today, feel free to come to our next meeting on November 7th.

Attention 7th and 8th grade girls who ordered Volleyball Spirit Wear.  The Volleyball Spirit Wear is here.  Stop in Mr. Coyle’s classroom, room 144, after school today or tomorrow morning before school to pick up your order.

Reminder that the bells will be off in the 7/8 center tomorrow (Wednesday) and the announcements/pledge will be read at the beginning of 8th period due to PSAT testing for 8th graders.

Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader interested in joining the Thompson Wrestling Team this year, our first practice will be tomorrow.  Practice will be held in the 7th/8th grade center lower gym after school starting at 3:40pm.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Coyle, Mr. Zentner, or Mr. Wilke.

Any students interested in joining the Prop and Makeup Crew for the fall play should attend a morning meeting tomorrow  at 7:45 in Mrs. Franklin's room, 130.

Hi, sixth graders. Halloween is coming up - come celebrate with your friends & WEB! On Wednesday, October 25th, WEB will be hosting a Halloween event! There will be cupcakes, a haunted scavenger hunt, and BOO-ing of classrooms - it’s sure to be a scary good time. If you are interested in this spookily fun event, please see your team leader for more information & a permission slip. Bring all your friends - we’re excited to see you there!

Attention 7th/8th Grade H.O.P.E members, there will be a H.O.P.E club meeting Thursday morning at 7:45 in the back of the LRC. See you there!

Thank you to everyone who donated to Camp Out From Cancer on our pajama day! We raised $475!!!! The next Builder’s Club meeting is this Thursday after school in Room 114 in the 6th grade building. Please come and help us with our next project!

TSA will meet in room 146 of the 7/8 building on Thursday to discuss building camping stoves.  This is an informational meeting and should only last 20 minutes.  Please see Mr. Hensel with any questions.

Yearbook will be taking club photos before school on Oct 26th, Thursday and Oct 27th Friday outside of the 7th/8th Center’s main entrance at 7:30am.  Please see your adviser to find a time.   Your club adviser has been given a schedule.  Plan to arrive 5 minutes before the picture time to organize.  All pictures will be taken on the front steps of the main entrance.  

Calling All Readers!! Do you love to read and talk about newest books? Then join us on Friday, Oct.27th at the 6th grade center for the first meeting of the Mock Newbery Book Club. This informational meeting starts at 7:30 in Room 207, and is open to any interested 6th, 7th or 8th grade student. Let’s get our read on!! - Contact Mrs. Leppin or your Language Arts teacher if you have any questions.

Next week H.O.P.E Club is sponsoring a Spirit Week for Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon week  is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention awareness campaign scheduled at the end of October every year. Students who dress the theme will have chances to win prizes! Before school and during lunches you will have a chance to sign the pledge to be Drug Free! Ask H.O.P.E Club members for details.  On Monday 6th graders are wearing RED!
