News for Today

This announcement is for 7th and 8th graders- Congratulations to all of the students who applied to be a member of the Thompson Student Council.  We are excited to announce this year’s student council members. Please see the announcement board for names. Congratulations members!  We will have our first student council meeting on Tuesday, October 10th in room 126.  The meeting begin at 7:45 sharp!  Please bring your Chromebook to our meeting.

This announcement is for 6th graders. Congratulations to the students that will be representing the 6th grade building for Student Council this year. The list is posted outside the office and in the team leaders’’ rooms. The first meeting will be in the LRC on Tuesday, Oct. 1oth at 7:45. Attendance is mandatory.

The Write-A-Check Campaign winners from last Friday are posted on the announcement board. The final raffle is this Friday and the best prizes will be awarded.  You still have a chance to win. Send WAC donations made payable to Thompson PTO to school or pay on-line at

Jazz Lab Band is always looking for band students who are interested in learning about swing, rock and Latin styles of music.  No prior jazz experience or audition is necessary.  Come join us Today from 3:30-4:15pm (and all Tuesday afternoons) and 7:30-8:15am on Friday mornings.

Attention all band students: Holiday Rock Band is starting this week. The first practice will be this Thursday after school from 3:30 to 4:15. Holiday Rock band plays holiday music as well as rock and pop songs. No audition is needed, just show up Thursday after school.

After school activities for today are Homework Lab, Coding Club, Volleyball Gold vs Navy teams 7th grade at 6th grade center, 8th grade at 7/8 grade center and Cross Country meet against Rotolo at Rotolo Middle School. Tomorrow morning in the 7th/8th grade center is Show Choir.

Good morning Thompson artists! Here is the announcement you’ve been waiting for! Thompson art club is about to begin! This club is open to any 6th, 7th, or 8th gr. student. There will be an informational meeting Wednesday September 27th. This meeting will be in the 6th gr. Center, room #110, from 3:40pm to 4:00pm -  after school.  Permission slips will be handed out. See you there!!

This coming Wednesday the Thunder News Club will be meeting from 3:40 to 4:45pm in Mrs. Gupta’s classroom mobile 22.  Please bring your permission slips with you.

In the United States, 1 out of 5 students have reported being bullied in school. Join H.O.P.E Club on Monday, October 2nd by wearing a blue shirt to school in support of STOMP OUT BULLYING WORLD PREVENTION DAY.
