Are you looking forward to the summer?! Tonight at Wredling Middle School from 5:30-8:00 is the Fox Valley Summer Activities Fair. Over 60 exhibitors will highlight their summer programs and have interactive tables including physical challenges, STEM experiments, and art creations. Bring your parents and meet your friends there to battle it out at Golden Gun Laser Tag.   Hang with Bubba the pig from Swift Nature Camp and show some love to furry friends from Anderson Animal Shelter. Don’t forget to enter the raffle to win up to $500 towards the summer program of your choice.

Student Council needs your help with our “Give from the Heart” food drive for the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Are you ready to give from the heart?  Student Council hopes you are! Our goal this year is to donate 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food.  If each student and staff could donate 2 items we could reach our goal. PLEASE bring in as many cans, boxes, or bags of nonperishable food items as possible. We will be collecting starting today through the 16th. Please bring food items to your team leader and put them in the designated boxes. Come on Thompson, give from the heart!

Guess what Thunder? The votes are in and the winner of the 2017 MOCK Newbery Book of the year is “See You In the Cosmos” by Jack Cheng. Check out a copy now in the LRC and stay tuned as we wait to see if it wins the ACTUAL Newbery Award on Feb. 12th. And speaking of award-winning books, be sure to read the email from Mrs. Van Sickle about voting for your favorite Rebecca Caudill nominee!

Craft Club is cancelled this Thursday Feb.8th.

Attention 6th grade HOPE members, the meeting today after school has been cancelled due to the Winter Weather Advisory. Please check the assignment on Google Classroom. We will be meeting Thursday morning before school 7:45 until 8:15 am in room 222.  

TSA will be having their Battlebot competition this Thursday in room 146 of the 7/8 building from 3:40 until one champion reigns supreme!  Come out and see the carnage!

Congratulations the the 7th grade girls A basketball teams who combined in winning the gold championship this weekend at the Kaneland basketball tournament. The girls went 4 and 0 and won the championship in a thrilling 33-31 victory. Congratulations to all of the girls.
